My Statement:
This piece is all about the beauty of outer space and beyond. From our planet Earth to the far reaches of space, there's a lot more to what we call our universe from what we can visibly see and reach within our technology. In creating this piece, I mainly used watercolor, but I did add some colored pencil and marker into the work as a general way to mix different types of art styles together. In coming with this theme of outer space, a lot of this came from what NASA has been currently doing in terms of exploration. My goal with this piece was to be able to intermix different styles of art onto a piece of work. With this goal in mind, I thought I did fairly well, but could've done a little better in some places in my artwork. Overall, I was pleased with how this came out. Having that I intermixed different styles of artwork has left to me with an understanding that different styles can make art quite special. In fact, for future projects I may consider intermixing different styles of artwork again.
