My Statement:
This piece is an illustration of a leopard settling on a branch in the woods. I made this piece by using a photo and used Adobe Illustrator to trace out the leopard. I then used layers to further detail the leopard so that it wouldn't look too flat. I chose to do a leopard illustration because I wanted to work with something other than things I have already worked with in the past. A unique animal like a leopard inspired me to do this project. Some goals for this piece were to be able to use layers and be able to trace effectively. I felt like the tracing went fairly well, but layering was a little bit of an issue because the photo I used didn't have it where I could see different values well. Other than that, I felt like this certainly helped get more familiar with Adobe Illustrator.
